I grew up in Ancoats, and a boy in my class at school lived in the fire station with his family. This is a travesty to see this being allowed to happen to this beautiful building. It is part of our heritage and should be cherished and maintained for all. These buildings were built to serve and meant to stand for a long time. I feel it was short sighted of those who sold this build to start with because it should remain as a part of our heritage and history.

Willful neglect of a listed building over a three decade period is criminal. A clear case for compulsory purchase, or at the very least, court action.
