A beautiful building to welcome people arriving from the train station. Will be a huge shame to lose it.

Disgraceful behaviour by Britannia Hotels and a travesty that its been allowed to continue for the best part of 3 decades. This corrupt council of ours needs to take control of this building NOW before its too late.

We bought an apartment overlooking the Fire Station because we loved the look of the building. It pains me to see it deteriorating. The Britannia Group should be ashamed of themselves and don't deserve to own this beautiful building. It would make a magnificent apartment block if restored lovingly.

The Fire Station is an iconic building. Don't let Brittannia Hotels let it fall so they can make a fortune out of the land price.

Manchester has fast become a dump. It is filthy. It appears that the council is interested only in facade. It purports to promote heritage but has no real interest in history- look at the removal of the cenotaph, a sacred site, to put in another tramline to media city. That says it all. It's all fur coat and no knickers.

Obscene land grabbing and holding, made possible by local government incompetence.
