This petitions has been created by a fellow nurse in order to raise awareness regarding our working conditions and status when compared to other professions. There are rumors that paramedic aides and phlebotomists are going to be assimilated in salary scale 12, which is the scale which nurses are paid for the first 5 years. The only difference is that nurses carry far more responsibilities and duties than the two positions previously listed. If you feel that our scale should be arranged accordingly if ever their scales are increased please sign this petition as a protest.

Definitely that our scale should be arranged accordingly and also more workload due to shortage of staff should also be considered.
Our positions and qualifications are not being given the progressions we are entitled for and abused
I do not mind if they succeed in raising their scale but then the nurse's scale is to be revised, as to become a nurse we pass from a 3 years course and some including myself continue and spend money to continue studying . whilst the course of a phlebotomist is only a 6 months course.
They word nursing aid in its self is showing that the job requires helping a nurse thus showing that less responsability is required and phlebotomists do much less work, not to forget the fact that nurses spend 3years studying and working to graduate unlike the other courses for nursing aids and phlebotomists
It's not a rymour..there are actual directives being done by the paramedic aids/phlebotomists union. It's not fair on us after studying for many years at university to obtain that pay.
We love our profession
Nurses will be resigning for sure if this happens...

the nursing profession is being eaten away slowly, and the inclusion of other skills or professions in our union was a huge step towards that end. i am sorry to say.
