Malta Residents Appeal Location of Trooper Barracks Project

This is an inappropriate use of this space, particularly in light of the fact that there appear to be other, more appropriate locations for this project. It is unconscionable that this beautiful location which is home to many natural species is being strip clearcut. This project will also cause a significant hindrance to anyone who currently uses the walking/biking path as Trooper traffic will increase, crossing the path. It will also affect the current 'great for children and seniors' environment that this area currently possesses because of the increase in vehicle traffic, increased lighting which not only disrupts nature in the area but also residents in the area. Please rethink and reconsider this hideous plan.

Many far more suitable locations with direct access to major roads not impacting residential homes and without further deforestation of Luther Forest.

I recently relocated and no longer live upstate but I’m in your corner about being against this being located in your beautiful neighborhood.

A more prudent location would be closer to I-87 for ease of access on and off the Highway for a quicker response for emergency calls. There is plenty of land adjacent to the YMCA or Medical facilities just off of exit 12.

There are many, many better places for this already offered.

This place is called Luther Forest for a reason.

Please ...do not destroy the natural landscape and environment of this area. The homeowners protect and maintain forest and greenery..providing clean air and safety for wildlife..leave it remain in its natural state.

There are other more appropriate locations for the police barracks!! Please consider those before trying to squeeze such a large building, tall radio tower, loud external heating and cooling system and parking lot to accommodate many vehicles into a small natural area that abuts private homes. It is an extremely poor decision to come into a residential area and negatively impact the private residences it would abut with respect to the value of the homes as well as the quality of life of the homeowners, who came to Luther Forest looking for a natural setting. Dunning street has only two lanes and gets very crowded at certain times of day due to the location of Global Foundries. There is a walking and bike path that would be negatively impacted. And there is a history of residents successfully opposing using the site to be used for a fire station. The elected officials of the town of Malta were aware of this history, yet residents were not adequately notified of the plans for the police barracks, and it is causing distrust among residents and the elected officials who seem to have quietly set this in motion. PLEASE RECONSIDER, AND CHOOSE A MORE APPROPRIATE LOCATION FOR THE PLOICE BARRACKS!

Save our forests

There are other places the can build a police barracks without destroying a pristine place!

Please don't further destroy the fabric of our neighborhood.

Placing the police barracks in a family-oriented housing development is a foolish idea. There are so many areas in Malta better suited for this. Why don’t the politicians ever think through a decision, including asking the people who pay their salaries and will be affected by the decision, before acting?

Leave nature alone.

There are plenty of other locations that would be more suitable. This would be an eye sore and disrupt the green space that offers privacy to many home owners.

We need to build fewer barracks and more shelters
