Final supporters
We urge the Mayor to listen to the community and reject the proposals for the Mortlake Brewery site (GLA references 4172, 4172A, 4172B). The current plans are entirely inappropriate for the local area. The excessive number of housing units would place significant pressure on already overburdened infrastructure. Proposed building heights are excessive, would impact on an iconic listed building and are not in keeping with the surrounding area. Most importantly, the current plans do not provide the sort of housing the city genuinely needs - affordable, family houses.

Does the Mayor understand the implications of a 40% increase in dwellings at Chalkers Corner as he has already increased the dwelling capacity on the Homebase site! The infrastructure is not available to meet the influx of new residents!
The cumulative density of the site is overwhelming and overbearing. The local infrastructure cannot accommodate the increase in traffic. Major loss of green space and potential for a green development that would contribute to the community.
We need HOUSES not just flats. The current suggested plans are not in keeping with the surrounding area. Blocks are too high. Local infrastructure cannot cope with this proposal. Roads are gridlocked and public transport is overcrowded.
This is utter madness especially given the current closure of Hammersmith Bridge and the misery, congestion and long journeys it’s closure is causing. Also this does not provide affordable housing let alone social housing , which the city needs
Far too many units which will swamp the local area, particularly its infrastructure. Ten stories is also totally out of keeping with the area and approval of this scale of development is insensitive and treats local residents with disdain.

The Mortlake Brewery Development must not go ahead in its present form - the plan is unsustainable for the local area and will create traffic and transport gridlock. There are far too many flats when what's needed are affordable houses.
