A number of students have raised their concerns about the online exams being 2 hours compared to last year’s 24-hour exams. This gives quite the disadvantage to students as there are numerous reasons in which students cannot perform at their optimum level. One being some students have travelled back to their home countries and are stuck due to lockdown, due to the time zone difference this may lead to the exam being at an abnormal time. Furthermore, students have different living conditions and the time allocated may not be suitable with various factors involved such as major distractions from home noise levels etc. Additionally, there are many uncontrollable factors that can affect students within the hours given to finish and submit, with a 24-hour exam this can nullify major technical problems and keep students at peace of mind.

For many students it will be there first time sitting a timed exam since the first year of university. This gives an unfair advantage to students who have had many experiences with timed exams. This can be a lot of pressure and effect many students mental health to perform adequately In the exam.
