The speed limit should be 30 mph. the fear of getting a ticket on Shroyer seems to have gone away over time. with time.

Although the posted limit on Shroyer is 35 mph, people often go racing through the open road between Dairy Queen and Shroyer. I personally think speed bumps would be a preferable "first step" to a stop sign or traffic light although I am in support of the petition.

I've driven through that area on numerous occasions and it is a heavy traffic area. Safety should be a primary concern.

This thing should continue to be shrugged at. 35mph is not a standard limit for a residential road, anyway. Cars need to slow it down.

Grassroots action at its best! If downtown Oakwood can have 8 crosswalks between Dorothy Ln. and Peach Orchard Ave., the Oakwood City Council must see the need to have AT LEAST 1 centrally located on Shroyer. I suggest that there should be TWO safe crossings in the 18 block stretch between Dorothy Ln. and the existing Dairy Queen crosswalk. It is not realistic to think that many people, (especially kids) will travel 10 blocks out of their way for a single safe crossing. I'd suggest on demand traffic lights that would only turn when cross traffic or pedestrian traffic is present. I also strongly agree with the need for a crossing guard during school traffic times - that seems like a no brainier, but of course there couldn't be one currently because there's no crosswalk to guard!

This road needs to be fixed. It should never have been a 4 lane road. It should be a 3 lane road with the middle lane being a tun lane. There should be a stop light at Telford or Aberdeen. The one less lane could then be turned back into tree lawn space to beautify the road on both sides of Shroyer.

I just moved here and take the city bus and walk to Wright Library. Not only for me but especially for the children I think this is a great idea! Glad I saw it in the Dayton Daily paper.

I support traffic calming along Shroyer. Agree that it needs to be more about people and less about cars. I do not support speed bumps. Let's do an 'Oakwood Avenue" on the entire Shroyer corridor. Study it, come up with a new approach that can improve safety, property values and SAFETY for the walkers, joggers, bikers, runners in the area.

Having lived on this road we have had to call police about traffic accidents many times over the 13 years we've lived here-including one where a car was speeding and flipped in our neighbor's yard. Would love any efforts to control speed on Shroyer!
