When Sam Smith came out, he gave a voice to the millions of non-binary folx around the world who are asking themselves similar questions. Not quite men or women, these brave they/thems, who ask only that we change our understanding of reality to make them feel more comfortable, have in Sam a Champion of Change.
Because of this, we propose that the flag for non-binary people--which at the moment is just a bunch of colours, one of which (yellow) has transphobic undertones-- be replaced by the stirring tattoo of young Sam looking confused while clomping about in stilettos.

My name is Ochre and my pronouns are ze/hir.
I am a non-binary teacher living in London.
I have designed this new Flag of Pride for all non-binary folx everywhere. It is using Sam Smith’s brilliant Coming Out Tattoo - it’s called ‘Reflections of Me’. I see the beautiful tattoo image as a reflection of the hardships and struggles of non-binary life, and our incredible difficulties in simply existing.

As a non-binary genderqueer person, I think this flag is much better. Wearing heels is currently only possible for women-aligned bodies and it would be groundbreaking if non-binary people were able to wear heels too.
Everythey knows theirs more genders than too. Sew stop trying two put folx in a binarybox. It’s stifling and they’res not much air in their. Let me breath. Let me be three. Enbys 4 Eva. Solidariteeee.
This extraordinary tattoo is a brilliant concept for a much-needed non-binary pride flag. The stunning portrayal of the young ze, gazing longingly at xir’s body, dreaming of the day xe might be brave enough to fill xir’s mother’s shoes. This flag will literally save thousands of other’x lives.
Sam getting this tattoo was a stroke of genius - he no longer needs to scream "LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT ME!" and save his precious little non-binary vocal chords for his next tedious album. It should absolutely be on a flag.
My pronouns are he/haw. I will no longer waste my emotional labour on the bigots who won't validate my identity. This flag will show them we mean business! Every day should be non-binary day of visibility.

This is the BRAVEST and BEAUTIFULLEST rendition of the confusion I feel every morning about my shoes and gender. Like wow I would feel soooo incluwu if I could show this to my bigoted mum like this be me like wow.
