Over the past years we've witnessed multiple severe cycling crashes and accidents in UCI categorized races caused by the use of unsafe safety barriers in cycling events. In times where UCI spends time and ressources on rules about maximal sock length or the composition of race jersey textiles, there still is not enough focus on the primary topic to be considered: the safety of the riders.

Please help us to put pressure on UCI to forbid the use of unsafe barriers in cycling races, and make the use of safe barriers mandatory in risk zones for all race organizers of UCI cycling races. No safety barriers = no departure!

We hope this petition will create leverage for the teams, riders and organizations defending their interests and rights (CPA, UNCP, AIGCP...), and allow them to jointly demand UCI to take urgent action.
