Shelter pets used to have 10 days to be re-homed now since Governor Brown, it's 4 days. If a pet is dropped off on a Monday, could be killed by Friday. Most working people can not check shelters Monday thru Friday for a new family pet. This Policy is and has been a disgrace. My Vet told me HOW the animals are distinguished, I almost vomited, SO cold and heartless ... absolutely disgusting, if only the public knew what really goes on. It is time for change! Stop the backyard breeders who are only in it for the $$$. Charge enormous fees to breeders who are such a big part of the problem. Make vet clinics affordable to families who meet some financial criteria for assistance with pet care so they don't just dump them when they are sick or injured. Educated adopters about pet care, expense, pet insurance, assistance, etc. Ask the public to bring in their recyclables to help aid the shelters, have people donate items to sell for fundraisers to raise additional funds for the shelters. Offer other fundraisers and go NO KILL L.A. Seek food and supplies from BIG pet corporations. There is so much that could be done and so many people who DO care about the shelters pets! I am ashamed of our animal care system! CHANGE America, take responsibility, find solutions...there are brilliant minds out there who could help solve it!!

Ban Puppy mills and breeders everywhere and find homes for these babies!!! only shelter animals should be allowed in all pet stores, chains or local!!! This animal concentration camp stuff is so OLD WORLD.... in this age, we have to find solutions to this Dirty old regime.....Old people homes, also abuse, homeless, and womens shelters, childrens hospitals and sports teams, they all need loving mascots and friends. There has got to be a way... even having humane society pet stores in malls, places people go to shop!! programs to get these animals out!!!!

make Los Angeles a "NO KILL" community now or show us how you intend to make Los Angeles City and County a "NO KILL" community by 2018. If you put your "NO KILL" plan in writing, you will get our vote in the 2017 Mayoral Election.

No animal should be put down for no reason. Showing the human are more of a wild animal than the innocent animals.
