I am a dedicated psychiatric nurse practitioner that has worked in the Mohave county area for 3 years. I recently opened my own private practice so I could do more with less for the residents of Mohave County. Arizona health cost containment center system (AHCCCS) is REFUSING to credential me as a mental health provider in the area, and thus stigmatizing the already overextended network of health providers in Mohave County. Michele is an amazing provider! It blows my mind that AHCCCS thinks there are enough mental health providers in our area when it is painfully obvious that our area is grossly underserved.
As a FNP in Az. I am shocked that Accchs can monopolize and demand people be seen by certain providers only. This should be brought to the governors, insurance commissioners and media’s attention immediately!
I have known Michele since we were CNA’s. I have watched her work often 2-3 jobs while bettering herself to the top of her field. Her dedication and passion for mental health inspires me. It is devastating that an insurance company would limit patients access to care on a very important decision. Good luck my friend. Keep your spirit!
Doctor Norton Has been my sons doctor for 3 years Since Dr Norton my son is doing better then he ever has! she is caring, understanding and she loves her patients.... There are so many people on Ahccs in need of mental health please allow Dr. Norton to treat them Thank you.
This community is lacking mental health services and we definitely NEED more options for those that are in need for mental health services. Insurance companies should not declined such services. Michele and her staff are fully committed and dedicated to go above and beyond to provide the best mental health services in our community.

Having continuous access to my healthcare providers is KEY. As a mental health care provider I KNOW it is essential to contract with providers that I trust. Without continuous care and the ability to choose my providers, I wouldn't loose a very important part of healthcare, which is the ability to form a therapeutic relationship, ultimately allowing me the best quality care I can expect. I think all residents should have the freedom and access to choose the provider of their choice.

It’s not fair that the only population of people who can get mental health care here is people on AHCCCS- no one accepts private insurance and the self pay rates are ridiculous, they prevent people who truly need it from getting the help they need and deserve.
