The Uighur people in China are oppressed. They often do not have the same opportunities as Han Chinese people. They are currently being used to spread propaganda saying that they are not being forced into slavery and that they love China. This has been debunked many times and it has come to light that the Chinese government has forced Uighurs to make these videos. Many are sent to "re-education" camps where they are brutally tortured if they don't comply with their culture being eroded and replaced with what the CCP sees as "Chinese".

Businesses such as H&M, Uniqlo, Nike have already boycotted buying Xinjiang cotton, and many other businesses soon. However, no governments have banned importing Xinjiang cotton. This needs to change.
