We, the undersigned, are petitioning the city to address the growing safety concerns at the corner of Observatory and Delta due to the high number of accidents. We urge the city to thoroughly evaluate this intersection and implement solutions that could include speed bumps, speed checks, improved signage, or other creative measures to reduce accidents and protect residents. Our community's safety is at risk and we believe immediate action is necessary to prevent future incidents at an intersection where there is a lot of foot traffic, especially with children.
I HAVE BEEN SPENDING MY ENTIRE WEEK LOGGING EVERY SINGLE NEAR MISS REPORT SENT IN BY FOLKS AROUND OUR NEIGHBORHOOD!! THE SHEER VOLUME OF CONCERN WE ARE COLLECTING IS PROVING EXACTLY WHY THIS INTERSECTION NEEDS AN IMMEDIATE OVERHAUL!! WE ARE READY TO SHOW CITY OFFICIALS THAT WE WILL NOT SETTLE FOR ANYTHING LESS THAN A SAFER STREET FOR OUR KIDS!!

THIS MOMENTUM IS ABSOLUTELY ELECTRIC!! THE CITY CAN NO LONGER IGNORE THAT OUR COMMUNITY DEMANDS REAL ACTION AT DELTA AND OBSERVATORY!! WE HAVE THE FULL ENERGY OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD BEHIND US NOW AND I AM BEYOND EXCITED TO KEEP PUSHING UNTIL WE FIX THIS INTERSECTION!!

I drive, walk and run through this intersection frequently. Often see cars running red lights and I've been hit (just a glancing blow) by a minivan turning from Delta to Observatory and not seeing me as a runner (driver was on their phone).

This was across the street from my house..my husband and I and my kids are constantly going out to help people in accidents outside our house. There's been dozens of accidents since we moved in 5 years ago. Something needs to be done to keep our families safe. We have had shards of glass on our hill as well as parts to vehicles.

I live near this intersection and walk on the sidewalk here often. I have seen multiple wrecks here. It's an intersection with frequent bikers, walkers, and particularly pedestrians with kids and strollers. Increased road safety is highly needed.

My nephew was involved in a serious accident at this intersection and his Jeep Wrangler was totaled. Someone is going to get seriously injured or die. It seems as though the Delta traffic is usually the one that hits the Observatory driver - if unfamiliar the light looks like it’s at Erie, not differentiated enough until you’ve run through it. Scary intersection to walk through as well.

I was in one of the recent accidents and learned from the neighboring families how dangerous the intersection is. Alerting signage, longer traffic light sensors, or anything to make these families feel more safe and warn drivers of the dangerous intersection patterns would help reduce citizens continuously getting hurt…

My husband’s SUV was totaled 9/21 at this intersection by a car who ran a red light driving on Delta towards Erie. Change is needed at this intersection!

The way cars bomb through this part of town is awful. I live at the corner of Marburg and Wasson and people will race down Marburg at 50 mph, blatantly disregarding the red light. Someone is going to die.
This is a residential neighborhood and these streets were never designed to carry the volume of traffic they unfortunately currently do.
Install cameras and/or speed bumps. Whatever it takes for people to slow down and obey traffic signals.
