Final supporters
For graduation, Mahopac High School plans on having graduates sit in their cars, on the practice fields, with one car in front of the other and side by side. Basically like sitting in a traffic jam where you know everyone around you. It will be impossible for us to see our fellow classmates and it may be the last time to say goodbye and wish each other luck in the future. If people can protest arm and arm around the country, why can’t we sit six feet apart, on the turf, like every other class before us? This is taking away our rite of passage from our move from high school to our future goals. Please sign this petition if you support getting our senior graduation moved to the turf were we can celebrate the last moments of our high school careers.

Would love to see the graduates truly graduate on the field as years in past! They have missed out on so much ... if West Point graduates can do it 6 feet apart why can’t Mahopac ? Even if we wait til end of July —- what’s another couple of weeks ?
My son is a high school senior in nj and we are having an outdoor graduation on our football field July 8. They are splitting class in half and having 2 ceremonies on same day
They missed their senior year. They've quarantined diligently! Let them sit 6 ft apart and graduate together! Let's get back to living!
If people can protest arm in arm the our children should be able to have a (Social distancing) graduation. Not one where they get out of a car and wave. Movie style is like being stuck in a traffic jam!
This will a moment that can never be given back to these students. Please do not rob them of their memories

Class of 2020 missed so much! They at least deserve a proper graduation. They need to walk across a stage where they their receive diploma, have a picture taken there , and be seen by their fellow classmates that they spend 13 years with.
