I am not sure what it says about a district that makes the decision not to promote the most obvious person for the GRE Principal position? Mr. Acosta has provided so much of his life and dedication to the kids and parents at this school. And it shows in the successes of his current and former students! It should have been a no brainer to promote him. He has my complete support! If he is not promoted, another school district is going to receive the benefits of his work, and that is the shame in all of this.

Acosta has been the face of GRE for the last 3+ years and the de facto principal during Van Horn's illness bouts and recovery. He is a great relationship manager, motivator and is quick to learn every student and parent's name. I doubt any other principal could motivate the students and parents in the same manner.

Mr. Acosta has earned and deserves this position. The GRE families deserve to have a smooth transition and to maintain the explemlary administration that have become accustom to. Please reconsider any decision made that des not promote Mr Acosta to Principal of Garden Ridge ES. Thank you James LaGesse

I am shocked and greatly disappointed to learn that Mr. Luid Acosta has not already been promoted to Principal at Garden Ridge ES. As former PTA President, long time board member and mother of 2 former students at GRE, I worked closely with Mr. Acosta on numerous projects over several years. Mr. Acosta has endless patience, energy and enthusiasm. He is highly respected by parents and students. Mr. Acosta brings a calm yet absolute approach and student welfare is his highest priority. Mr. Acosta has the unique experience of being at the school and working with Mr. Van Horne for many years. There is NO ONE more qualified to take over the exemplary elementary school and I have full confidence that he will continue the successful record of GRE. A seamless transition would be in the best interest of the staff, students, parents & faculty of GRE. I strongly encourage the District to re-consider any decision that would exclude Mr. Acosta. and I encourage the District to name him in this position as soon as possible. Thank you for your consideration. Marjy LaGesse

Please reconsider allowing Our Mr. Acosta to return to GRE. He is the heart of this school. He knows every student and parent by name. He truly wants what is best for the children and spend time with each of them learning what " makes them tick." He listens to the teachers and supports them. He helps parents as well. My son was recently diagnosed with dyslexia and Mr. Acosta has spent time outside of his 504 meetings to help me understand and work through this disorder. He is an integral part of this school and should have been selected as OUR principle. Please reconsider.

Please consider Mr Acosta for Garden Ridge Principal. The thing that I love most about this school is that lack of change in teachers and administration, Please do not change that

Mr. Acosta had welcome us and let us feel that we can count with him always. I never met the past director and the only one that usually see involved in all the activities was Mr. Acosta. He really shows that he care and for a Hispanic family like us that we recently moved here that is very important to us.

I have had students at GRE for the past 14 years. Mr. Acosta has influenced my 4 children as much as the great teachers they have had. I already expressed my frustration to the Superintendent and hiring committee in a letter and it is in no way against the woman they hired, she sounds like a capable administrator and one that is well liked. But where is your loyalty to one that has committed himself to our children? He has been the heart of this school. I had a child attend Wellington for a year and there was such a stark contrast to the administration and school. I was so glad to be back among HUMBLE leadership where there is a love for teaching and administering to children without needing to be recognized. We had a good, simple, caring, loving and humble atmosphere at GRE that has been created by the entire staff and I only pray your decision to put them under new leadership hasn't ruined that.

Mr. Accosta is a wonderful assistant principal who I am certain would rise to the occasion and new challenges of a promotion beautifully. It was a mistake not to have given him the opportunity to serve as GRE's principal - please reconsider and place him in the role where he belongs.

Mr Acosta is well qualified for the position and truly cares about the kids and the school. He is there every morning greeting the kids and involved in all of the daily happenings at the school. Both of my kids require ARDs and Mr Acosta has been a welcomed resource in that process as well. I have experience with other LISD schools and leadership from my oldest daughter and I truly haven't met someone more qualified to lead GRE as principal. I was shocked when I heard he wasn't chosen the first round.

Even though we are no longer at Garden Ridge we KNOW Mr Acosta would be the best fit for the principalship at GRE. He's about support and making kids and teachers the best they can be!

Mr. Acosta is such a blessing to GRE. Our kids love and respect him as a leader. He has been a wonderful example of what an administrator should be and deserves to be our new principal.
