Mr. Acosta deserves the role as principal. He has been the heart and soul of GRE. For years, he has represented the school in such a positive manner. Mr. Acosta makes every child feel valued and important. He is always present at school activities and makes a point to know every parent, current and past student. He is a valued member of GRE and he has earned this promotion.

Mr. Acosta is always there with the students. He is at the door greeting the students every morning and checking out the classrooms during event. We think Mr. Acosta will make a great principle because he has his students in his heart.

I was appalled when I learned Mr. Acosta was not appointed principal of GRE. He is one of the hardest working administrator I know and I have taught for 20 years.

Mr. Acosta would be amazing as GRE's new Principal. He always has a positive presence and takes such pride in his school. He goes above and beyond for all his students and staff, and his commitment to the school is above wonderful! And he always made a point to say hello whenever he saw us and made us feel welcomed. There is not a more deserving man than Mr. Acosta as GRE's Principal!

Mr. Acosta puts everything into being a principal at Garden Ridge! Every day when I drop off my children, it is Mr. Acosta who is standing outside greeting the students! This is WONDERFUL and helps the children to feel important, but as a parent, this is WAY more! When I leave my children at Garden Ridge, I feel safe! I know Mr. Acosta is watching! That's huge! Beyond this, my son (who is now a senior in high school) still remembers Mr. Acosta coming out and throwing a football with the kids. He also remembers seeing Mr. Acosta walk through the classrooms! This is HUGE! This school is top notch! We've had children at the school for many years now, and we have always been happy with the school. Previous to being at GRE, my kids were in a private school, and we wish we would have skipped that experience and saved our money because our time at Garden Ridge has been the best! As a former teacher, I also see that that the teachers are happy! That means SO much! The teachers are doing a fabulous job, do so much extra- and seem to really enjoy teaching the students. In my opinion, this is a reflection of the tone that Mr. Acosta has brought to the school. Mr. Acosta has been leading this school for many years! It would be nice to make it official.

Mr. Acosta is the heart and soul of GRE. He knows every parent and student at GRE and cares for each and every one of them. This decision should have been a no brainer. Please reconsider your choice for principal.

LISD made a mistake when they made the decision to replace Dan Van Horne. Luis Acosta is the man that should have been selected as Principal at GRE. I personally know many parents that feel he's been doing the job of Principal for many years. It's baffling that LISD and the selection committee didn't consider the voice of GRE parents and faculty in their decision. While the ink may be dry at this point, LISD should be made aware that the majority of past and present GRE parents do not agree.
