This horse is her lifeline to a happy life. Lucy gives her the stability she needs. Don't take her stability away. This is a necessity for her. I have known Carrie for over 30 years. She is a wonderful person and needs this help !!!

this sounds heartbreaking and i was a young rider who relied on horses for so many emotional needs as a young girl, and the poor horse who only know where she is at now, to be unsettled in a new environment at the later stages of life is heartbreaking.

I am a retired RN who knows how well horse therapy works! I am appalled at the town since they know full well that Lucy has been there for years! Shame on them! Carrie, you should get a letter from your Doctor letting the town know how much Lucy has helped you over the years! I'm praying that the RIGHT thing will be done! Lizx

Let Lucy stay at her home. Why is the town of Yarmouth wasting time on this. Don't they have bigger issues to deal with?

She's been there for a while and so have other horses in the pst, what is the horse doing.... it shouldn't have to suffer bc the town is worried about a property line... that's the reason to desert a horse. What is wrong with people. I understand where this lady is coming from I have anxiety and my horse makes me so happy along with all my animals! I couldn't be who I am without them!

I run a non profit farm animal rescue. Do you know that about 300 horses per week from ONE facility are shipped over seas for slaughter? Are you willing to risk the life of yet another animal / I understand the need to follow rules but nothing is black and white in this world. It sounds as if there is some lack of knowledge regarding horse care. We are on Cape Cod it is very rare to find a farm with big fields of grass. This horse is extremely well cared for. People need to educate themselves when it comes to horses, they are not dogs.

I agree the horse should stay. We have horses in the big cities and zoning is not such an issue. I do think Lucy needs a bigger pen, even though she is getting regular exercise. Maybe the owner can put some toys in it to keep her occupied. Horses are herd animals so I have to say it must get very lonely for her and boring. She looks great but my concerns are more about her mental status.
