PETITION AGAINST LITTLE RIVER CLUB PARKING LOT CONTINUANCE
WE, THE UNDERSIGNED RESIDENTS OF SHORECREST, CHALLENGE THE LITTLE RIVER CLUB'S RIGHT TO USE THE TWO RESIDENTIAL LOTS AS PARKING AND DEMAND IMMEDIATE CLOSURE OF THE ENTRYWAY ON 80TH STREET.
ISSUE 1: Residents of Shorecrest request the immediate and permanent closing of the Little River Club parking lot entrance gate on NE 80th Street and discontinue the use of property as parking lot.
BACKGROUND: The Little River Club's right to have entryway and parking lot will come up for review in March 2010. We demand this review be denied wholeheartedly by the City Commission. The high volume of traffic and uncontrolled speeding through Shorecrest creates a safety issue. Moreover, the continuous foot traffic of persons that do not belong in our City defeat the purpose of a crimewatch due to these persons stating they are members of the Little River Club. Residents have been verbally abused and physically threatened. Despite goodwill attempts by residents to work with the Little River program and organizers, conditions have not improved; despite the reporting of numerous code violations and complaints to the police and Code Enforcement.
ISSUE 2: We, the undersigned residents of Shorecrest, request that the property currently used by the Little River Club for a parking lot, characterized as non-residential use, be returned to its original residential use as described by zoning laws within the City of Miami. The Little River Club is using the back of their commercially zoned building as a meeting place and hangout for its members. The amount of vehicular traffic as well as foot traffic is infringing upon our enjoyment of our homes and furthermore causing a public nuisance to our community.
Enough is enough. These people leave trash everywhere and treat the residents like were the problem. Close the gate and let us get our street back.

The traffic is out of control on 80th. My kids cant even ride bikes in front of our own house because people are flying down the street to get to this club. Shut it down.
