Charlie, we have not applied yet, pending a vote from the board to move this project forward. If the board won't approve we won't need the permit. We have all of the appropriate paperwork and have spoken with them on a couple of occasions. We are go to go as soon as we get the go ahead.

Pablo, actually it wasn''t Bri Wilson who commented. I was helping her sign and didn't realize that I was still logged on as her. I tried to find you on our FB and couldn't, that is why I questioned. Do you have the proper permit from the GA DNR? Because there will be construction in the lake, you will need a Wetlands permit from the DNR

Since the reply to Pablo's questions do not seem to show up by default, here are answers to his questions:
1- How much this is going to cost us?---- Nothing, it will be paid for and maintained by your HOA dues and possibly boat storage fees. No increase in dues for this project is required or anticipated.
2- How much are we going to pay for the time to come to maintain this new infrastructure?--- See #1
3- How many people will use this area (not just boating)? ------That is why we are asking for participation in this petition - to try to gauge interest. Was it necessary to know how many people would play tennis or swim or use the clubhouse before those amenities were planned and built? This is a lake community and we are trying to make the lake more easily accessible to all Members, not just lake residents.
4- For how long people is going to kayak? 3 or 4 months per year? -----Georgia weather allows at least 9-10 months of temperate climate for kayaking/canoeing/boating. How many months do people fish, swim or play tennis?
5- How are we going to stop vandals and outsiders for using our lake when we cannot even avoid outsiders coming to fish in our lake? I don't want an amenity that will bring crime to our community. ----The ramp area already exists so there is nothing stopping non-members from using it now. We are only suggesting the improvement and further development of the existing area to allow easier and safer access to the lake as well as an additional fishing pier as already exists at the upper spillway. The success of our Member ID Program depends on community enforcement but there is obviously no way to stop all crime or trespassing. Hopefully people will see the logic and benefit of offering this enhanced amenity for non-lake Members instead of only negatives.
