This is a petition urging officials of City of Johannesburg and City Power to rectify radiation/dirty electricity emanating from a substation accessible from Protea Street (section between Nottingham and Derby). Other areas affected included Nottingham Rd section up to Queen St and diagonal roads west of Protea up to at least Panther, possibly further. Essentially all houses including Plain Tree Montessori kindergarten supplied by the substation in question.

See YouTube overview here https://youtu.be/n37rCJ0qPao

The radiation is at very high levels for low voltage local distribution lines and is probably a result of poor upkeep and inadequate earthing specification or leakages.

Not only does this contribute to ineffective management of electricity resources, residents are also exposed to unhealthy radiation 24 hours a day, except only when there is a power failure (this has been measured and confirmed). Residents exposed to areas where hot sports are measured complain of sleeplessness, depression, anxiety, skin allergies in people and pets etc.

Baseline readings in Derby and Westmoreland Rd are close to zero, if not zero.

I have finalized the formal request for an independent technical audit of the Protea Street substation. This document is currently being delivered to the City Power regional office to force a direct response regarding the maintenance history of these lines. I am now preparing a follow-up briefing for the local ward office to highlight the specific health reports residents have submitted.

The volume of support has now reached a point that allows us to request a formal meeting with City Power engineers. I am finalizing the technical documentation to present alongside these signatures to ensure our safety concerns are addressed as a priority.
