Final supporters
The Austin City Limits Music Festival is a boon to artists and the local economy yet what makes Austin music possible are the dozens of unsung heroes that work hard all year-round to make our city the Live Music Capital of The World. These deserving artists are just as worthy of the incredible exposure that many other of the artists performing at ACL receive yet most of them are not even from Austin!
We, the undersigned, being members and fans of the Austin music community, are hereby requesting that a Local Artists Showcase stage be constructed and managed for every ACL Fest going forward.
Registration, selection process, pay scales, sponsorship and other details can be discussed during contract negotiations but none of this can happen without the go-ahead from C3 and their associated partners.
This is a win-win for all parties involved: it will expose local talent to a wide, diverse, and potentially national/international audience, it will foster an incredible amount of goodwill between the music community and the operators of ACL, the cost would be fairly minimal or negligible with the right local sponsor(s), and it will create job opportunities for Austin musicians, sound technicians, writers, photographers, etc.
Let’s get the AUSTIN City Limits Music Festival on board with AUSTIN music!!

If Austin truly wants to promote themselves as the "music capital of the world" they should take steps to actually promote the music made in this city before they lose what made Austin special. This is a start.
My name is fabian and I'm in the local band A Farewell To Nothing. We've been a band for about 15 years. Something like a local stage would be an amazing opportunity for up and coming bands, as well as older bands. It's an opportunity worth exploring.
As a 37 year resident of Austin , I believe local music is the life blood of ACL ; look at all of the local bands that have gone on to be some recognized . SRV , Fabulous Thunderbirds , Doug Sahm, LosLobos, Nelly ... I could go on ...
We’ve always enjoyed the local community of Austin with all the venues that have given us the opportunity, and this platform is a great area to showcase all the Local Scenes diversity with a huge public showcase! We gladly sign on to this platform and thank you for giving the Local Scene the opportunity... Dave/CËRËBRO
I think it would be super beneficial for not only local bands, but the festival itself, to add an extra variety of local talent. A large event like this could do wonders for bands / musicians that need more exposure to people from all over the world!

Local musicians rocking out with established-well known musicians. I see an opportunity for New Gen musicians to learn, well known musicians to be inspired, the music business to grow, and music fans to hear the next big thing. Its a WIN-WIN-WIN-WIN for everyone.
