I strongly feel that our students need the opportunity to return to in-person school. This pandemic is not ending any time soon and we cannot remain "remote" indefinitely when there are plans and protocols that can minimize transmission. Many people in many fields have been navigating these risks for months now. We can, too. Signing this petition as a show of solidarity with my union because I do strongly question the sense in having staff report to buildings when their assigned students will not be present. Asking teachers to host remote instruction while wearing PPE is a set-up for failure.

There is no place I would rather be than with my students. However, at program and staff meetings, when asked basic questions regarding how we are going to meet the basic COVID-19 safety standards to ensure the health of these same students as well as our staff, during the upcoming winter months, administrators have no firm answers and in many instances no answers at all. The health of students needs to be our first concern...period.

Senseless to be there on opposite days when our classroom students are not there.

We are innovative, flexible and dedicated educators that go above and beyond for our students on a daily basis. We want to be a part of the decision making process, feel safe at work, and be able to continue to show we can provide our students with great services from home when they are not in the building.

I can't possibly work in the building and have my schedule change willy nilly when my own children's schools are on a different schedule. I should not have had to take a leave of absence when I'm perfectly capable of teaching from home. Pandemics are a time for patience, not a time to be rushing back into the building and putting the safety of staff and students at risk.

Going to school is risky and deadly and trumpesque. The kids don’t want to be there.

Cleaning high traffic bathrooms once a day, what a joke. None of my students wear a mask yet if I get sick I may not be covered with sick days yet alone being a higher risk for covid..
