We, the students of Arnold and Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and School of Nursing, sincerely appreciate the efforts that the Long Island University Brooklyn Campus has taken to eradicate the bed bug situation in our school. Nevertheless, we request that the University takes the necessary measures to remove and prevent this bed bug infestation once and for all in the lecture rooms (specifically HS 107, 118, 119, and 121) of the Zeckendorf Health Sciences Center. Having an exterminator treat the facility is not sufficient to solve this problem in the long run. We believe that the solution would be a complete removal of all fabric materials which include, but are not limited to the chairs, carpet, and fabric materials on the walls. It is recommended that the chairs be replaced with non-fabric and non-wood, preferably reinforced plastic or metal so the bed bugs cannot re-inhabit the new rooms.
