Be heard In! Asbury Park! Let Asbury Park elected offiicials know how you feel about parking meters in Asbury Park, NJ. LIMIT parking meters in Asbury Park, NJ! The City of Asbury Park is installing parking meters throughout the Asbury Park business district where patrons, residents, and the working class once could park for free on the street, will now have to pay $1 per hour, 9am-Midnight, 7 days a week, year-round! As a result, stores in the area will see a substantial drop in business. Sales will likely drop, putting businesses in jeopardy. The meters could have a devastating effect. Residents, workers and visitors will undoubtedly feel the pinch. Various parts of the city generate very different rates of revenue from parking meters. The economic climate in the neighborhood is fragile. Placing meters in the up and coming, on-the-rise business zones in the city is not wise. Merchants need to draw visitors from other areas and parts of the city -- the meters will wipe out incentive for some to visit Asbury Park. The meters will no doubt be counterproductive because they will killl a lot of business. This is a city where people oftentimes come as a group. Parking availability is an attraction of the area. Once they start getting cited, they will likely stop coming. Attention: All who must utilize parking in Asbury Park, NJ. We are asking the good citizens of Asbury Park & all those concerned with the added stress and expense of parking meters AND fines endured while visiting or working in Asbury Park to join forces. Let us send a loud & clear message ~ respect our growing but fragile business district. Give us a chance to succeed. ATTEND Asbury Park's Council Meetings! If your schedule permits, make an effort to attend and voice your concerns. Speak up and state you feel limits should be placed on our parking meters in Asbury Park, New Jersey.

Reaching this point has been exhausting but seeing so many of you echo this frustration keeps me going. It is clear that we are not the only ones worried about the toll these meters are taking on our local economy. Despite the heavy silence from City Hall, we are moving forward because the future of our business district depends on it.

The city is getting greedy. Who actually wants to pay for parking at midnight on a Tuesday?? Keep the downtown alive and get rid of these things.
