Decent lighting in a highly trafficked area seems like a pretty good idea. Why wouldn't this be supported?

Everyone should feel safe on our streets. Just get it sorted.

I wouldn't want my daughter/son walking there whether she was with friends let alone, being on her own. Its dangerous!

This is the route home to my house from uni next year and at the minute I walk the long way round to avoid it because it doesn't feel safe

Reading this on the MEN website. I don't live here or attend the university but everyone should feel safe walking home & it's an nderstand, lighting is an issue in several areas of Manchester. Let's get the ball rolling! Well done x

This is a fantastic idea, I'm in my third year of uni and I still hate walking down there, but I haven't got a choice, when walking on my own i either call my parents or boyfriend I hate it that much.

I think the road is unsafe and needs proper drainage. My employer, the university can afford this rather than it being put onto my council tax. Students pay too much already and the recently built halls of residence escaped £2M + Section 106 fees so they should have the money somewhere... it might even be evidence of them 'giving something back'...

Graduated in 1994 but drove down Wallness Lane recently and was surprised to see how badly lit it is. Needs to be sorted before someone is attacked or run over !

Yes our streets need to be safer the very least Salford Council and the University can do is make sure the lighting is adequate. Students bring enough money to the city!! Good Luck

Used to walk down this road often when I was a student. So glad I no longer have to.
