My daughter is also a student at Salford uni,and I hate the thought of her walking anywhere near the uni as it's so unsafe

When does lights become before someone's safely ????? Cut crime and install some lights!!!! Light vs crime???? I think lights come out stronger ... Safety for normal people walking home feeling safe!!!! It's a human right ????

I read about this in The Manchester Evening News and it gave me the horrors; something so unsafe shouldn't be allowed. How frightened women must be walking along this road.

This was an issue when I was a student almost 20 years ago, seems not much has changed.

Please put downward facing lights on all roads as well as Wallness Lane. The light pollution is bad enough as it is in Salford and Manchester.

As an past Salford student, I am aware of a number of sexual assults that have also occured in the area. A few years ago it the path through the park next to Wallness Lane was unfortunately dubbed "Rape Park" by many of my fellow students.

As a grandmother, I am sure I speak for all other grandmothers and urge the council to light up Wallness Lane and keep our granddaughters safe!

I have a number of friends who have been mugged down that street, more lighting would make people feel safer. University students walk there every day and nobody feels safe.
