This has gone on long enough, the boys need safe nets to play in.

Cost saving should not come before safety.

I would not like to see young cricketers have these facilities taken away from them!

As a former player at the club and resident of the pavilion, it saddens me to hear this story in Australia. It's a lovely club and it belongs to the people of Shenfield CC as intended

Me and my friends love Shenfield CC, why won't you let us have new nets?

Isn't it obvious?

How can a Local council prevent young people to play sport safely, surely they should support this for the youth in their area which is their mandate!!!!

Will try and spread the message far and wide. Time we held our councillors to account for the grace of god they hold office because we vote for them. Perhaps we should turn up for their next public meeting.

Stop putting obstacles in frfon of young people playing organised, competitive sport. Stop your attempts in to using Shenfield CC as a cash cow.

The facilities for young children to play cricket are essential for building a sense of community, the spirit of collaboration and ability to team work. Please help Sheffield CC achieve this goal.

Its a great cricket club, Brentwood Council should encourage and support the development of sporting facilities for our community. I wonder why it doesn't ?

These nets are a part of Shenfield; we spend many hours practicing our cricket to bring glory to the name 'Shenfield' but how can we practice without SAFE nets. It's a ticking time bomb until someone seriously injured them self .; imagine if your great grandchild played for the club and he fell over in the nets, broke his nets and died, then you'd be sorry.

This sounds like an absolute disgrace. What are the council's real motives? Money I guess and to hell with history and tradition and morality.
