While much of the world’s attention is focusing on crude oil prices and the Libyan pipelines in the east of the country– human right groups say rebels are committing crimes against humanity.
Several Human Rights organisations including the UN and Amnesty International have raised concerns about the plight of African Migrants and indegenous black Libyans facing retribution in Libya at the hands of the rebels.
The main stream media has largely ignored this issue.
By signing this petition we hope you add your voice to the few that are concerned about reports of genocide and ethnic cleansing reported in black Libyan towns such as Tawergha and the continual abuse meted out to African migrants in Libya.

The silence from major news outlets is sickening while Tawergha continues to suffer in the shadows. I am spending my nights documenting accounts from those on the ground to ensure these atrocities cannot be ignored by the people who have the power to stop them.

Seeing this momentum grow confirms that people are finally refusing to look away from the suffering in Tawergha. My heart is heavy for those who are still trapped but I am grateful that so many of you have chosen to acknowledge this tragedy alongside me.

People really need to wake up and see what is going on in Libya. This is basic human rights violation and nobody cares because of the oil. Shame on everyone involved.
Total silence from the media while people are being slaughtered. Disgraceful.

How is the world just sitting back and letting this happen right now? Where is the news coverage on this???
