Our Virginia Public Library is a place where everyone in the city (and surrounding areas) can access knowledge for free. It is a space for involvement that provides community cohesiveness and strength, bringing people together to learn and foster positive relationships. With our country presently so politically divided, it makes absolutely no sense to cut funding for a space and programs that encourage people in the community to connect and learn together. Furthermore, there are limited spaces on the Iron Range that offer senior citizens free access to intellectual opportunities and wider social contacts. The Virginia Public Library has provided that for me over the years with their varied and interesting community programs. Please reconsider these funding cuts!

As a property owner hoping to open a business downtown that draws families, an active, fully funded library will help our business draw families to our business. This will benefit not only our business, but all those surrounding us.

Libraries provide valuable opportunities for community connection. They serve people of all ages and backgrounds. Without well-funded libraries, we lose out on opportunities to increase the knowledge base of our communities in many topics.

This is a wonderful resource for our community and our families. This would be an incredible loss for all of us.

This library has served the community for my childhood and my children’s. It would be a disservice to future generations to not receive adequate funding.

Not being from the area originally I use this library at least once a week for resources that are available in this area. Everyone has always been so helpful and nice. My granddaughter loves library day because of everyone there being so nice and always taking the time to help a little 4 year old.

ive been going to the library since i was a KID. i LOVE the familiarity of it, the space for kids, just the whole building is cozy and beautiful! i love that they have had programs there like watching a livestream of an eclipse, with a craft!! please support the library!!! its an important place, a safe place, for people to be. and its an important and free space for people to LEARN and GROW!! think about the world right now - where would people be able to access different books for both fun and learning, without libraries!!

The public library provides so many great resources, I’ve seen the positive impact it has had on our youth and adults in the community. Please do not make the budget cuts.

The public Library is an invaluable resource for this community. It is one of the ONLY places for young people to go. It is one of the only affordable places to find books and entertainment. It is source of community for so many of so many age brackets. It is one of the few places that still encourages learning and exploring and analyzing. It is a place of safety for kids in insecure living situations it is a safe, warm place for neighbors with nowhere else to go.
The library and libraries are one of the most vital parts of the local community

They need to deal with the emergency service budget before cutting all the rest of this stuff.
