We the undersigned, being residents of the London Borough of Lewisham, request that Sir Steve Bullock, Mayor of this Borough, accept the consequences of his decision made in April 2009 to move pupils from Lewisham Bridge Primary School to temporary accommodation at the Mornington Centre.

This was done in the knowledge that the school had been listed and could not be demolished unless the appeal lodged by the Mayor were to be successful. We feel that any reasonable person would have waited until the outcome of the appeal before subjecting these young children to the inconvenience and damage to their education of being bussed to a different site.

We request that Sir Steve Bullock make a public apology in person at the school to the children and their parents for having caused so much trouble to them. We also request that any expenditure incurred as a direct result of his decision (cost of bussing, school security, and so on) be met by Sir Steve Bullock in person as we do not think that the residents of Lewisham should pay for the consequences of this foolish and arrogant decision.

Total incompetence from the council. Those poor kids being bussed around for no reason while he waits on appeals. Needs to be held accountable.

Absolute joke. Why should we pay for his mistake? The kids have suffered enough and he needs to own up and apologize to everyone involved.
