It's awful iv lived in nairn nearly all my life and I have always stated that the shows are getting so little the show mans guild should protest and never come to nairn then the council will see what makes the nairn highland games! The council take too much and never give it's an absolute disgrace you should be ashamed?!!!!!!!!!'

It is terrible. I have done games day since I was little. I would like to think I could take my children to do the say thing. Why don't they use it for more things through out year. And for the kids play area could be so much better.

I cant believe the council has the hard neck to charge them rates for the fortnight they are here. The land lies empty from one end of the year till the showies come the following year.

Charge is too high, we need something to draw the tourists in.

I agree with what the petition sets out to accomplish, and think that they should work with the show people to achieve a positive outcome.

The nairn shows use to pull in loads of visitors when I was a kid 2years ago so let's start getting that back again for our own children and the population of nairn and the tourists

There was a time when the Nairn showies brought people from near & FAR to the town with the wonderful array of rides .. Please bring these days back .

Agreed the greed of the local authority is sickening not just the rates for the fair but the rates they charge for local businesses is it any wonder shop units sit empty for so long

Can you just imagine what Nairn Games, and other events too, would be like without the accompanying fairground? A lot less vibrant I'm sure. There has always been a myth that the show people just take money from the fairs without having to put anything back. Now, more than ever ,their running costs are crippling to the extent that many have been forced off the road.

What's happened! We used to be the biggest fair in the North, there was more spaces than rides, surly if you dropped your charges, you would attract more, and make more revenue !, please do something, or there won't be any next year.

Hope we can get the showies back to how they were in the 80's and 90's, when you didn't know what ride to go on first and had lots of stalls to choose from.

Considering the money the games and showies take into Nairn the council should give them the site for free.

charge £2 and 10 turn up income = £20 Charge £1.25 and 20 turn up income = £25 It can make sense to charge less and get a bigger turn out.

Come on Nairn Councilors get your act together and fight to save a great Nairn tradition. Waive the ground rents and encourage the showies to come and stay longer generating income for the showies who will spend money in our shops as will visitors.
