Let's get the rates dropped and we should do the same to Inverness, they treat Nairn like a backwater

Would be a shame if my kids loose out because of greed. Lower the price down to allow more stalls and rides to afford to come. Most out of town families come for the stalls and showies then they use the pubs and shops in the town. There not going to come for a couple of rides which cost an arm and a leg because they have to cove the ground rent.

Stop charging such unfair rates to these people who faithfully come every year to Nairn 3rd and 4th generations now decades of loyalty (I know they get a good income out of it - but lately their income from Nairn is making them decide not to return ) this year has seen the worse show fair turnout in 2 decades with large gaps all around the show ground. After finding out the ridiculous money Inverness Council are charging these fine folk and its not what they're charging in Inverness neither no wonder they can't make a decent income with also nothing provided for them bar the grass they pitch the stalls on, no electric causing them to run the tractor units and eating up valuable diesel that is also adding to their running costs. My family has know the Day's, Testo's and Veitch's for over 80 years and regard them as family friends, exchanging gifts, cards etc., it would be horrid not to see them anymore :( One of the MAIN REASONS people attend NAIRN GAMES IS FOR THE SHOWIES it is the biggest social event of the year in this town the attendance for the Games WILL GO DOWN and the money raised for that will also diminish causing the valuable volunteers who run this essential financial asset to the town to consider its closer or down size - really Inverness give us back our own Council and proper status and just SOD OFF

The showies are getting smaller due to high priced rent of land which needs to be reduced . It's terrible I use to love the showies as a kid now moved away but my kids are not bothered about going as hardly anything at showies now they say .... It is so sad to see such a big event in nairn for year upon years dwindling away due to highland council being greedy for money !!!

Increasing the rents will not generate more income for the councils coffers as it will encourage tenants to go elsewhere and in the long run they will end up with less income. Pricing people out of business is bad management!

Once each year, folk come from far and wide with their families to join with the Town of Nairn in celebration. We talk about the memories of the Games and the 'Showies' to our Children, Grandchildren, Nieces & Nephews. The 'Showies' alongside the Games is an integral part of the event. The revenue this brings into Nairn is phenominal which surely is what our Town needs. If the Council had a business head on them, why not scrap the land rent and charge the 'Showies' a percentage of the income they generated whilst they are here?

Well we where going to put a stall up at games day this year till we herd how much one had to pay to put a gazebo up for the day they should be letting local businesses put there things on display for much less it's a disgrace , but I guess council is like polotitions to get rich off the the poor and screw every one over to suit them selves as long as there pocket get Lind they happy . Won't help local business grow in town . Need to get a young team on the council to make decisions as it seems we living in the 60 in nairn

I wholly agree with cutting rates for the showies as the summer just would not be the same without it.

It was a lot quieter this year than usual,is so sad how rates go up and things that you have enjoyed since childhood and you now take your own to may end up dwindling away..also what is the rent going to?.not keeping the toilets running that's for sure! Massive queues as usual today and one door which wouldn't lock and the poor attendant having to try and unblock one of the loo's herself this morning before games started as she couldn't get anyone out to fix it!

Disgrace that they're been forced out due to the high rates they're being charged.
