Winter is starting soon and the birds need food! And we want to be able to attract the birds for the bird watchers and park goers!

Bird feeders provide an attraction that increases the enjoyment of the park, allows for the study and monitoring of birds, and helps for the survival of birds.

Many small songbirds struggle to find sustenance in the winter, particularly if there is significant snow cover so a well-maintained feeder station can be integral to their survival and also allow for easy viewing of species by both experienced birder's and non- birder's alike

Hi, since parks are for people and people LOVE to see birds, what possible reason could there be for NOT having bird feeders? Everyone wins.

Birds in the winter need feeders since food supply is limited. Please, allow bird feeders in Prospect Park.

Bird feeders are important in this day and age when natural habitat is threatened in myriad ways. They help maintain our bird populations through the tough winter months. They bring people to the parks to observe the birds. They are an educational experience for both children and adults. This year more northern species will be visiting our parks. The feeders will help them get through the winter.

Feeders are not only good for birds and birders but helps to keep the park a safer, pleasant place by attracting people who show care and concern for its environment.

The feeding station supports local birds as well as migrants, giving them a reliable stop-over as they make their arduous migration journals.
