Lets Restore the Forest Park (Queens) Bird Feeding Station!

Bring back the Forest Park bird feeders!!

Please restore the Forest Park bird feeding station. Many serious and casual bird enthusiasts come to visit Forest Park and the surrounding retail establishments in Queens to observe the seasonal bird migrations. The feeding station supports native birds directly, giving them a reliable stop-over as they make their arduous journeys. The feeder is vital to their survival.

Please put the feeders back.

Spent a lot of my youth in the park especially riding my sled in the "soup bowl" in the golf course

This feeding station is a rare boon to New Yorkers wanting to see native birds up close, and I have used it as an educational tool for college students too.

Please re-establish the bird feeders in Forest Park.

Please keep the bird feeders. With global warming, pollution, light pollution, glass windows, loss of environments and more, the birds need all the help they can get from the people who care about them.

Since they use constructed feeders rather than spreading food on the ground, their impact should be negligible. Please do not prevent the continuation of this small gesture to mitigate negative impacts of human activity on bird populations. Thanks

People who live and work in Queens would like the continued opportunity to observe birds at the feeders in Forest Park.

I endorse the return of stations that sustain birds whether they are permanent residents or coming and going during annual migrations. Its a small investment in exchange for the great delight they provide when we observe them.

As a former New Yorker, I am saddened to learn that the feeders in the famous Forest Park Waterhole have been removed. These feeders help birds make their long-distance journeys during migration seasons and increase the survival rates for those who winter in the area. Please BRING BACK the feeders! Birds need them and people love them. Parks are for all sorts of outdoor activities that should include birding, especially when habitats favor birds’ presence.

Wonderful opportunity for children to get to know and appreciate birds.
