Why they would dump Doug Davidson after 40 years is beyond me. He has carried the show at various times, won EMMY awards, was the longest-running actor on the show and his character is in charge of the police department in Genoa City. Tossing core characters aside in favor of younger actors whose characters have ties to no one, makes no sense and is going to kill the show's fan base. The powers that be need to respect the history of the show or it will be gone. It's not Days of Our Lives, for pete's sake. Get it together.

Doug Davidson is heart and soul of The Young & Restless, the needs continuity of those who helped form this shows success. Doug did that and more.

Doug is a valuable and talented person who is missed tremendously by fans. It was a terrible decision to fire him as well as thinking he could be replaced Bring him back with back pay and an increase in pay. What ever the reason for letting him go cannot be as important since his portraying of Paul all the years has been outstanding We want doug to return !!!!
