Due to COVID-19 Girl Guides looks a lot different this year than it has in the past. There are a lot of restrictions set in place to insure the health and safety of all girls and guiders. However one of the restrictions decided upon by the Department of Heath restrictions is that we are not aloud to sing, even with the use of masks and social distancing precautions. Singing is a huge part of girl guides and through discussion with our unit we have decided to start a petition #letussing. This is something we are very passionate about and we would love your support. Please share this post and tag Girl Guides of Canada and the N.S government with the #letussing to get the word out. Thank you!

Updates

October 1, 2020

The scale of this response has secured us a meeting with Department of Health officials to review current safety protocols. I am currently finalizing our formal request for a policy exemption regarding outdoor group activities. Further updates will follow once the discussion concludes.

Sputum cannot escape a mask. I feel they should be allowed to sing. Change the directive to singing with a mask and self distance, please.
