Lake Washington high school wants to make it mandatory that we turn our videos on during classes or that we display a photo image of ourselves during class. For various reasons whether it be anxiety, stress, zoom fatigue, self consciousness or just enjoying not having to show your face anymore I am here to ask if you do not think the school should be forcing us to turn cameras on or display a photo that does not represent what we like that you sign the petition below.
There are so many other important issues than this one. It is more important that we feel comfortable and focus on learning.

I never imagined this conversation would reach so many of you who are feeling the exact same pressure. It is truly humbling to read your stories and realize that this discomfort is something we are all navigating together.

I am honestly a bit overwhelmed by how many of you feel the same way about this. Seeing so many people care about our comfort in the classroom makes me realize this is much bigger than just my own frustration. Thank you for stepping up to prove that our well-being matters as much as the screen being on.

I think that, for the teachers sake having some kind of photo of ourself would be nice since many of them have never met us. However, I do not think it should be mandatory and I really disagree with forcing everyone to use their Skyward pictures. We should be able to choose what photo of ourselves we want to display.
I do not have a problem turning my camera on, there aren't many students comfortable with their cameras on is because they want to be comfortable in their classes. Doing this will make online learning dreadful for alot of students. Students are already going through alot.
I think thats it's ridiculous that we have to show off ourselves when some of us have many reasons they cant turn on cameras or don't feel comfortable with showing their pictures for basically the whole class to see.
This is injust, this is the hardest time for students of our generation. They have already sacrificed enough. Don't take away small things that keep them sane.

it should honestly be optional, i dont know why the teachers feel the need to push people like this. i really hate my school photos and pictures of my face in general and i lowkey don't feel comfortable with people looking at it so it should just be optional. im already struggling with a lot of other things and i like my pfp right now and we shouldn't be forced to change it
