Cameras should be optional in participation, because students should not be forced to put on video when it makes learning harder for them.

We understand that there are times when we have to take part, and we will do our part. But not every student can comfortably turn a camera on during class or meetings. Some kids struggle with having a camera on, and that can make it harder to focus, speak up, or stay involved.

When cameras are required, it can add stress instead of helping us learn. It can also make students feel singled out if they are dealing with privacy concerns, distractions at home, internet limits, or simple discomfort being on screen. Participation should be about learning and engagement, not about making students feel pressured or exposed.

We are asking teachers, schools, and program leaders to make cameras optional and to offer other ways to participate. Students should be able to join in by speaking, typing, reacting, or completing tasks without being forced on camera.

This is a fair request. A flexible classroom helps more people take part, and it shows respect for different needs and comfort levels. We want a learning environment where students can participate fully without unnecessary pressure.
