"Last week, Nadia Mohamed - our fearless advisor, scholar, friend - found out that she will no longer be hired to teach at MCTC after this semester. The course "Arab History and Culture" for fall semester that Nadia created has been canceled and she was removed from the World Religions courses. After nine years of outstanding teaching, advising of MSA and supporting the MCTC community, Nadia has lost employment at MCTC. We have lost Nadia who is not just an outstanding scholar and leader and friend, but our only African Muslim female instructor.
We need a powerful and united demonstration from students and faculty that Nadia is an essential value to students, faculty and to the college (scholar, advisor, friend, colleague); and that for MCTC and all of us, Nadia needs to teach next year!"
