Not only is the Monument in Hanover Square the ONLY Civil War Monument in Glynn County, but since Confederate Soldiers have been declared by the United States Government to be United States Military Veterans this IS a United States War Memorial - a sacred memorial to the dead. If a Confederate monument, statue, or headstone is removed, the entity is in fact, removing a monument, statue, or headstone of a UNITED STATES VETERAN; therefore, this Memorial should NOT ever be REMOVED.

This historical monument is history, and not hateful. It honors the veterans who fought. I am a person of color and love all historical monuments. My voice matters.
