We the class of 2016, while not condoning the breaking of rules, respectfully ask that punishments given meet the level of activity . Our classmates did break the, "No Senior Prank" rule, a long standing and even negotiated tradition at Green River High School.
However, we do not believe that preventing these individuals and their families the earned right to stand with us at graduation is an appropriate punishment for their actions.
We, the class of 2016 respectfully request from the board a more appropriate punishment be given to those who have impacted not only our lives, but the lives of the people in the community of Green River as well. Not allowing these students the honor of walking at graduation punishes them, their families, and us, their classmates. Please do not allow this to be the legacy left behind by the class of 2016.

Seeing this kind of momentum feels like a weight has been lifted because it proves that so many of us believe our friends deserve to stand on that stage. My heart is full knowing we are fighting for the people who have been by our sides for four long years.

We are gaining momentum and need that five hundred signature mark to show the school board we are serious about these graduation seats. Please push this out to your circles right now so we can walk into that meeting with a clear message.

I do think it is serious issue, however,I think they should walk with their class. Some community service of some kind would be more appropriate . The students involved would benefit-hopefully-but still walk..they did earn that.
They went in through a know to be open door and used a DRY ERASE MAKER to write on the windows. They wrote nothing vulgar, did no damage to property. Mind you they used a dry erase maker so it was easy to clean. Sound like "bad students"?
Families of students shouldn't have to suffer because of something as petty as a senior prank. That is something that has been done by every graduating class above them with no repercussions, and in my personal opinion, that seems like a rather extreme punishment.
These are good kids that made a poor decision. Their punishment is just to harsh. They have worked so hard for 13 years, and I don't care who you are high school is not easy. Some of these kids are 4.0 students, I think not letting them walk does more harm than good.
I think that these kids should walk on Monday right along with their class mates. Let's remember that we were once young, whether you were caught breaking the rules or not. One stupid decision should not mark their graduation day as being one of their worst days.

Although rules were broken, this punishment should never have been considered. Punishments should be implemented that affect only those that committed the act, not everyone surrounding that person. Please rethink this decision, and implement some other sort of punishment.
