The town might want to rethink who they have chosen for the coach. Leah is an outstanding athlete and she should be given the chance to play.

It's a shame that a person can't play a sport because a coach says so. Everyone should be able to make a team based on skill level.

I remember when I used to play, made some great memories during that time. Everyone should have an equal chance to experience things and specially if they love doing it!

Opportunities allow one to break boundaries and grow in many different ways. A chance is the only thing this young lady is seeking. Its 2015, this really shouldn't be an issue any longer.

I don't know all those preventing Leah from playing, but it appears to be a somewhat shortsighted decision; and maybe even vindictive.
If this is the NPHS Coach trying to circumvent the (team access/practice) rules set forth by the NJSIAA, then they're playing with fire -- and NPYSA is the kindling.
If this is a personal thing between the coach and/or NPYSA and the family, that's also not a good look.
Regardless, she deserves the right to play -- especially when they've taken the position before that being a resident of the town is a prerequisite for participating on one of their teams.
And while this would be setting a precedent by prohibiting her from playing; it's a self-regulated organization that only answers to... itself, so it's unlikely there'd be any repercussions.
All that to say, let Leah play!
