We have family and friends that have sadly passed away and we visit often to Clipstone cemetery. We have a nephew our little angel Thomas that sadly passed just as he had been born, sadly we never met Thomas so going to see him means so much to us, we take our little boy Jack 7, and Mia 3 down to visit often! His grave/ place of rest is so nice we often take things down for him, Jack takes quite a few of his toys, recently he took his cap and a forky character from toy story 4! Saying he’d taken it because Thomas would never get to see the film! So taken things down has so many meanings to my kids and to my sister in law Thomas Mum and her kids! They regularly go and take things down! Thomas also has his grandad with him looking after him. My husbands friend “ buster” is just in front of Thomas aswell and we have been visiting him for years. We also have a nana that is down there, This cemetery is such a beautiful place to come to, it’s always got beautiful flowers and special little things people have left to their loved ones, it’s a calm and relaxing place for kids to feel ok to come to! I feel totally ok to go in and visit on my own as it’s a beautiful place, every grave has a story and it’s so nice to just have a minute and just look at some of them! If this is taken away it would be awful for all the loved ones, it wouldn’t be the same lovely place and would upset a lot of the young kids and I really don’t think that a lot of people would feel as calm down there! It would be a real shame and I really don’t think it should of been decided this way, it’s a lovely village and something like this has totally has upset a lot of people! So we are totally on board to try and over turn this wrong decision!!

Good luck to the ladies that started this campaign, people should be allowed to show love to their lost loved ones.

Its a discusting, vile act to dictate to people about what they can and can't leave on loved ones graves. Wrong

Cannot see what they have to gain by asking us to remove all our token gifts and memories.T a lot of people,my family included get a lot of comfort from leaving these for our loved ones, please think again.

I feel strongly about this as in particular we have had to Have counselling for our little girl when my grandma passed away, taking things to the grave really helps ease things for her and us as a family.

My little granddaughter went through bereavement councilling when her mama died. The councillor suggested she takes gifts to the cemetery. What will this do to her and other children like her?? Please think what you are doing to them. !!!

It's beyond inexcusable that a Parish Council has made such a disrespectful decision that would obviously negatively affect the community it is supposed to support. Outrageous!

I think its discusting u should be aloud to put keep sake down for a family member this is how people grieve they are paying for the plot they should get what they pay for

People pay for these plots with their own money to bury their loved ones it's their land nobody has the right to say what they can and can't keep on it and on top of that it's very disrespectful to the deceased to be stripping their graves
