iPads are an extremely useful educational tool. Students can take neat, effective and organized notes and with a iPad can have a vast amount of educational resources at their fingertips. Without internet access, or even with school wi-fi, social media is banned and is therefore not a distraction. iPads are an aid to education, not a hindrance. At Leon M. Goldstein, our band schedule has existed virtually as long as the school itself. It allows students to participate in clubs, and tutoring, and the shorter days allow students more time to do homework. Our band system is part of what makes Goldstein unique. While we understand that an extra hour needs to be put into the schedule, this can be done without removing our band system entirely and forcing seniors to have full schedules.
