As parents of students at Bard High School Early College and the ConneXions Academy & other concerned citizens, we request that a left turn signal be added on Liberty road - to turn onto N.Dukeland. It is nearly impossible for us to turn left there in the mornings during rush hour, when we are taking our children to school. Thank you.

I have been hearing from so many people about the dangerous near misses they face at this intersection every single morning. It is humbling to realize how many of us have been struggling with this same frustration in isolation until now. Thank you for showing me that I am not the only one who sees this as a serious problem for our students.

Seeing the momentum behind this request is truly overwhelming and I am just the person who typed it up. You are the ones who turned a simple frustration into a movement that the city will have to notice.

Putting a left turn signal in at the intersection of Liberty Road and N. Dukeland is crucial to ensuring the safety of the students and parents. Students are offloading MTA buses at eastbound Liberty Road and attempting to cross N. Dukeland at the same time cars are trying to make a left turn from westbound Liberty Road onto N. Dukeland in between oncoming traffic. The cars are looking for breaks in traffic and not looking out for students. It's only a matter of time before a student is hit by a car and seriously injured or worse. This situation is of critical importance and should rectified as soon as possible.

Please implement this proposal. This intersection poses a major safety issue. It forces drivers to choose between sitting for several rounds of lights, hoping for an opening, or making a risky turn between cars, hoping for the best. Adding an increased volume of school children into that mixture as they make their way from the bus stop, across Dukeland to reach the sidewalk side, means drivers have to be mindful that they are crossing the street, while drivers are trying to time this already risky turn. Again, a tragedy waiting to happen. Please put a turn signal there to improve the safety for all parties.

A left turn signal at this intersection would streamline traffic in both directions considerably!! I've been wondering who the city council member is for the neighborhood. How hard could this be?!?

Dangerous intersection. Student safety is extremely important. Please consider adding a turn signal especially in light of a Bard Teacher being injured at that intersection.

With youth crossing and cars turning at that very intersection that services 3 schools, a turn signal would make it safer

This intersection REALLY needs a left turn signal. Not only has it made our children late to school, as we've had to sit there for many minutes and through several turns of the light, but also ties up traffic on Liberty Heights and makes people do risky turns if the slightest opportunity presents itself. For the sake of safety and the flow of traffic, and for the sake of drivers' sanity, I ask that you please install a left turn signal at this light!!!

Safety of our children is very important, a traffic light will ensure this.
