Why and how do you "supposedly" not have money for a football field but you have money to make all of the unnecessary changes that will have to be made because of a new name. So how do you pay for new uniforms for all sports and a band? Could someone please explain??? Leave well enough alone!!

You can change the name all you want...it is human nature that people will still call it Walker. Just like they call hwy 118; 78 hwy. I have read how people "cringed" when someone called it Walker Counry; then let me suggest they move!

I believe it is a very bad mistake to change the name of a landmark school. Oftentimes, officials believe it's all in the name of progress, but really it defeats the purpose because you uproot great loyalties and miss opportunities to rebrand a landmark well-known & well-loved to other generations!

All that tradition will be lost. I really wanted my grandson to graduate as a Walker Graduate. But, really it won't kill me if they prefer to use the Jasper name.

Walker County High School in 67, the time to have changed the name would have been in 72 when it became a city school.

I have had one niece graduate from there and one more will graduate in 2 years leave the name of the school alone.
