It's just ludicrous to change the name because there building a new one. My mom and both brother graduates of Walker. "Here To You Or Dear Old High School " Class of 84 !!!

Wrong decision. Leave it alone and listen to the voice of residents and graduates who have paid and continue to pay for the Walker County Schools and the Board's salaries.

Leave the name Walker high School. you can always say Walker Jr. High or Elementary. But it should stay Walker High School.

I feel they should leave the name the same because people that have graduated from Walker High School want it to be the same for there children. Also, people that went there and graduated and moved off somewhere else may come back and want to see it and when they see the name changed it may change their life forever.

Let's leave it Walker High. Let's show the state we are bigger and better with the same name. Everybody and his brothers high school are named after the city. We stand out because we don't. That is a plus in my book. All the other schools will look at our new school and facilties and think wow Walker must be doing great.
If we change the name they'll think Walker died and Jasper took over. Let's keep Walker Highs name alive. Go Vikes.
