Can anyone on the board provide a reason as to why the name change? Walker High is not just a name, its a tradition. This is a total lack of respect and lack of something to do.

Leave a good thing alone. Respect those who graduated from there. When you change the name to Jasper, it is the death of Walker and all the trophies labeled Walker or anything else. Walker will be no more.

My parents and eldest two children graduated from Walker and I have three more to go. Walker isn't just a name but a tradition that I'd like to see carry on.

I did not go to school there but in my opinion it should remain Walker High School, they said they were building Walker a new school, Walker was getting a new school and so on.... so why try and change it after the building has been built. Was this their intentions all alone?

Very ill-thought, as replacing uniforms alone for sport teams and the band could run several hundred thousand dollars!!!!!

My High School in 1967... Grand GrandDaughter High School the last 4 Years... Want to continue a Family Tradition. Please Leave History in Place... Thank You

Fran Wakefild Johnson, Class of 1966.. Some of the joy of our 50th class reunion has been spoiled. I am against changing the name. Someone thinks changing the name is going to change the problems of our county and city, Education will help. Put all this tax money back into the classrooms to help our teachers help our community!
