Please leave the name alone. My husband graduated, his son , his daughter and four of his grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. But no matter what we don't have a say cause you have decided. It's a shame that you can't listen us. We speak from the heart. Leave it alone.

This is not good for the board or the superintendent jobs. They have stirred Up a wasp nest that may cost them their jobs! Leave our history intact and worry about education. If not please submit your resignation. The whole high school funding and cut backs have been nothing but a city debacle! Yet you want to stir it up even more by changing the name of our school? Call it Walker ( Jasper) high school?? But you better not mess with W.A.L.K.E.R! Bad decision on the board. Didn't even consider the people or even poll the community! It may just be a name to some.. It's our history we want to pass on to our kids and grandkids! Total failure!

As a proud graduate of Walker High School I am ashamed to see the board of education making an unfounded change without bringing it before the community first. I am sure the public outcry will be such that the board will realize their mistake and keep the new high school named Walker High School out of respect for the community and the many tens of thousands of living alumni.

A generation of Vikings- My Mom graduated from here, me & my husband , all our children. Memories that will last a life time of God letting us have a great high- school ! We got to say Prayers , WE VOICED OUR OPINIONS- We are the black&gold ! Go ye mighty Vikings!!! ( homecoming parades , presidential scholarships- kiro gambrell field- the hash house - seeing our friends everyday- we made great memories!!! I just pray that God's hand will b in every detail of it!!!
