Fallen leaves are a vital part of the ecosystem: they provide coverage for delicate ground plants during cold weather and are an incubation area for many native insect species that are rapidly disappearing, such as fireflies and moths.
Clearing leaves is expensive, and we all know Earlham needs to save money, yet we see the grounds crew clearing fallen leaves nearly every day.

As an entomologist, I know that leaf litter is a critical habitat for insects to overwinter. Insects are necessary for the ecosystem and for life. Leaving the leaves is a no-brainer!
They're also just really nice, I like to collect a few to press and send to my family because fall doesn't really exist there
it looks way better when it actually feels like autumn outside instead of a sterile golf course
WHY ARE WE SPENDING MONEY ON THIS? keep the budget for actual school stuff and leave the nature alone
the leaf blowers are so loud and annoying when i am trying to study in the library. let the leaves be.
